1. Better for your health

Whatever you rub into your skin eventually ends up in your blood streams. products, like phthalates, parabens, petroleum waxes and others, go straight into your body. Yuck! Even worse, many of the chemicals in beauty products have never been tested, so any potential health problems they can cause are virtually unknown. Think of it like making a meal. The better the ingredients, the better the dish, right? Same applies for skincare. 3. Organic products are better for synthetic skin

If someone gave you a choice between using an ammonia like substance or using natural coco-butter which would you choose? Obviously you'd take the coco-butter because it is far smoother on the skin. For those with sensitive skin, the fewer chemical ingredients the better. Because it is mainly plant and fruit based, organic beauty is exceptionally soft on the skin and will soothe not aggravate any sensitivities.

4. Better for the environment

If the fact that organic cosmetics are better for you isn't enough, they are also far better for the environment. The biggest harm in regular cosmetics, has long been microbeads; tiny bits of plastic found in exfoliating body washes and facial scrubs. There's mounting evidence that these beads have been killing marine life and bringing harmful chemicals into the food chain. Fortunately, there has been a successful campaign to ban them here in the US and they are being weaned out. But what about all the synthetic chemicals and fertilizers that are flushed down the drain. Unfortunately they are adding to the growing pollution and increased toxicity in our waterways.

5. Organic products don't use synthetic fragrances

When you see the term “fragrance” on a beauty product label stay away. It might smell sweet but it's anything but. Just about anything can make up fragrance, even hundreds of different chemicals. Worse, the FDA doesn’t require companies to disclose the ingredients in their fragrances, even though many common ingredients in fragrances include chemicals linked to cancer and other health concerns.

You won’t find “fragrance” listed on organic beauty products labels. Whether that ingredient is an extract or an essential oil, you’ll know exactly what components are creating that lovely natural scent.
