Introduction To Indigo Dying
WHAT – Introduction to SUKOMO Indigo Dying
WHEN – Tuesday 25 August
This is an introductory class to experience our fermenting SUKUMO indigo vat, 100% organic traditional vat from Tokushima, Japan. You will be dyeing one tenugui (Japanese utility towel) and handkerchief with basic shibori (tie-dye) or itajime(wood clamping) techniques. Please show up on time wearing something you can get dirty in. Because our vat is fermenting and "alive," it depends on its daily condition how dark/light each piece can come out. Duration of workshop is one to two hours depending on the number of participants.
At the intro class, we do not accept "bring-in" material. If you wish to dye your own garment, please inquire by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
