From Granola To Glamour with Raquel Griffin #ModavantiMuse

Meet Raquel Griffin, our newest Modavanti Muse. Founder of the fashion blog Granola Glamor, this green fashionista has a wardrobe and style to die for,as well as an inspiring outlook on life. At the height of her successful career as a personal stylist and fashion editor, Raquel began to feel unfulfilled and exhausted in the cut-throat fashion business. As she puts it, "It was the classic cliche. I was a yoga-doing, old-school hip-hop loving, vintage-obsessed, hippie with a heart of gold stuck in the fickle world of New York fashion. The harder I tried to put my artist’s heart aside in the name of cash flow, the more frustrated I got and it was time to get out". This prompted her journey to self awareness, spirituality and wellness. She studied photography, trained as a Reiki teacher and went raw vegan.

Following a six year journey of exploring holistic and healing methods, Raquel was eager to fuse her newly acquired wellness tools with her everlasting passion for fashion. Queue in the birth of Granola Glamour. In her lifestyle blog and coaching, Raquel strives to share tips about how to stay hip, happy, healthy & hot while developing your personal style that aligns with your values. Granola Glamour is about modern values-based style and keeping your body, mind & artistic spirit working together in tune to reach your fullest potential. We are very inspired by this Modavanti Muse we shot her amazing lookbook and sat down with the green guru herself to ask her some questions.

Tell us about yourself:

I'm a yogi, style blogger, life coach, fashion hound.

What are your passions?

Easy; sustainability, style & spirit.

What draws you to sustainability?

In all aspects of my life, I'm committed to living consciously in support of one another & the planet and for me that all starts with sustainability. I eat local or organic foods, am careful with what cosmetics I use and am definitely conscious of cutting down on my waste and finding the environmentally friendlier option in my day-to-day life.

How would you describe your personal style?

Dramatic yet simple. practical. vintage obsessed. ethically minded. spiritually driven. GRANOLA meets GLAMOUR.

What's your favorite sustainability badge?

Tie between recycled/re-purposed and vintage. I think finding creative ways to reuse clothing and keep it from ending up in a land fill is both critical and fun. Plus vintage is always in style!

Who is your inspiration?

In my heart, I'm inspired by those who find the courage to stand up & speak their truth and in my closet, I'm inspired by the iconic style of Bianca Jagger, human rights/climate change activist, patron saint of 70's Glam, and the original "Look Good and Do Good" girl.
